It was a moment of pride and honor for KDDM students at the recent ACM Mid-Southeast Conference. The conference was held on November 15, 2013 at Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Ligaj Pradhan, a Ph.d. student from the KDDM lab received the first place in the “Doctoral Degree Presentations” session for hispresentation on “Accurate 3D Body Construction from 2D-Photograph for Body Fat Prediction”. Another team of two Masters students, Rajan Kumar Kharel and Niju Shrestha received the third place in the “Master’s Degree Presentations” session for their presentation on “Standardizing US House Client Names Using Efficient Clustering Techniques”. They were rewarded with certificates and prize money. |
CS student Rajan Kharel wins the first place in AAS paper competition
Rajan Kharel, who recently joined the Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining Lab as a MS/PHD student in Fall 2012, wins the first lace in the paper competition in the Engineering and Computer Science Section at the 90th annual meeting of the Alabama Academy of Science.
