Introduction

The Computer Networking Laboratory allows faculty, students, and researchers to experiment with various configurations of wireless and wired computer networks, in an isolated environment from the UAB Campus network. This teaching lab supports EE432/532 Introduction to Computer Networking, EE448/548 Software Engineering Projects, and the senior design courses EE498 and EE499. The lab contains several dual-boot (Windows/Linux) personal computer (PC) workstations, a number of switches and routers by various manufacturers, and software that allows for easy reconfiguration of the network architecture. Network packets can tracked and analyzed, and various scenarios can be easily simulated, without affecting the wider Campus network.
