The UAB Fungal Reference Laboratory is certified by the College of American Pathologists (7178014), the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (ID # 01D0995095), and the State of Alabama (ID # L37110) as an independent diagnostic reference laboratory. We perform BSL-2 or BSL-3 microbial culture, drug susceptibility testing, antigen testing, serology, molecular identification and quantification, sequencing, histopathology consultation, digital slide scanning, and leukocyte activation assays in addition to grant and contract work for federal and industry funded basic, translational, and clinical trial research projects.
