I am Ioannis “Yannis” Liapis, a postdoctoral researcher at the Fonseca Lab at UAB. I graduated from the University of Crete School of Medicine and earned an MPH from Harvard T.H Chan School of Public Health. My research in the Fonseca Lab centers on improving surgical outcomes and health systems, with a particular focus on health disparities in access to surgical care for cancer patients. Through data-driven, clinically focused research, I am dedicated to enhancing the quality of surgical care delivery.
