Study Purpose: Advocating for Health Equity
Did you know cardiovascular health is poorest in the Southern United States, especially in Alabama where it is the single leading cause of death? EPIPHANY emphasizes good heart health practices in underserved populations with historically the highest prevalence of hypertension, a mostly preventable but potentially deadly condition. This program provides health-based education and resources in Black Belt communities to help lower existing rates of high blood pressure and advocate for lessening barriers to healthy lifestyles.
Family Health and Fun Day at New Birth Outreach Ministry in Demopolis
