Englund Lab hosts Dr. Ferdinand von Walden
This week the Englund Lab had the pleasure of hosting Ferdinand von Walden, MD/PhD, during his visit to UAB to give a UCEM seminar. Dr. von Walden is an Associate Professor of Physiology in the Department of Women’s and Children’s Health at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, and a Resident in Pediatrics at the Karolinska University Hospital. He leads a translational research team focusing on molecular muscle physiology in health and disease.
Kostas receives award at UAB Postdoc Research Day

Postdoctoral Fellow Konstantinos “Kostas” Papanikolaou won first place in the data blitz category at the UAB Postdoc Research Day Symposium.
Dr. Englund awarded NIH/NIAMS grant
Dr. Englund was awarded an NIH/NIAMS R00 to continue studying the role of cellular senescence in skeletal muscle loss and dysfunction.
