It is time for the DSC’s competitive renewal. Our submission will establish our goals and objective for the next five years. Highlights include a Targeted Research Training (TRT) project that will involve all ERC faculty and will explore long-haul truck driver health and safety. The three overarching focus areas for the TRT are: 1) Exposures; 2) Health Assessment; and 3) Mitigating Strategies and Intervention. The DSC will continue its highly successful collaboration with the ERCs and Agricultural Centers in Kentucky, Florida and North Carolina with the Southeast Regional Research Symposium. We plan to expand the Summer Institute to include a program for high school students—and we will continue to support area conference and professional development to enhance OHS in the region.
Our academic programs will remain the cornerstones of the DSC—driving our research and impact within SOPH, SON and AU Engineering.
To help us illustrate our impact—if you are a graduate, have attended a continuing education class, participated in a conference or seminar—or your workplace has used the DSC for a project or consultation on an OHS challenge—we to hear from you! Please consider writing a letter of support outlining our impact. You can see an example of a letter and more information about the DSC on our website.
