Community Health Research Pipeline

The Community Health Research Pipeline provides technical assistance, training, and pilot grants through the Community Health Scholars program for investigators interested in conducting community-engaged research.  The aim of the pipeline is to expand community-engaged health research opportunities focused on addressing the social determinants of health that are identified by local neighborhood leaders affiliated with Birmingham United Neighborhoods (BUN).  Interested researchers and community partners can enter the Pipeline through several different entry points to access CSCH faculty mentors and training/resources based on their backgrounds and interests.  Below is a diagram showing the Pipeline and its entry points and potential pathways based on areas of interest.
