Welcome to the Collaborative Antiviral Study Group
We are a National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded multi-center clinical trials group, which conducts studies to evaluate novel antiviral therapies that target unmet medical needs. Operating with an academic focus, the CASG conducts both pediatric and adult research trials in over 40 experienced clinical centers across the country and in select international sites. CASG also collaborates with pharmaceutical companies to evaluate new antiviral therapies.
Management of the CASG is coordinated with the scientific staff of the Virology Branch, Division of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (DMID), NIH. Through this effort, safety criteria and compliance with federal regulations are assured to protect patients from research risks and to conduct research at the highest level.
