Subhashini Bolisetty Lab
The Bolisetty laboratory is focused on determining the interplay between iron metabolism and inflammation in kidney health and disease. Our laboratory uses established rodent models of acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease to elucidate the molecular underpinnings of injury and repair. We specifically focus our efforts on iron handling by myeloid cells, particularly macrophages, and its effect on regulating kidney injury and repair. We employ state-of-the-art methodology and unbiased approaches to tease out molecular mechanisms to expand our current understanding of kidney disease as well as guide us in generating new targeted therapeutics.
