UAB Research Center for Excellence in Arsenicals External and Internal Advisory Committees

External Advisory Committee:

The External Advisory Committee (EAC) is made up of five members who are acknowledged experts in areas of research related to the Center’s projects.  The EAC will function as ongoing advisors providing valuable advice and criticism.  The EAC will:

  1. Assist in the evaluation of the overall progress in accomplishing the goals of the Center.
  2. Make recommendations for future directions and strategic planning, including which antidotes against arsenicals should be evaluated further.
  3. Make recommendations for resource allocation.
  4. Advice about quality control of scientific projects.

Internal Advisory Committee:

The Internal Advisory Committee (IAC) is composed of selected senior programmatic and administrative leaders within UAB who have knowledge about the key aspects of the CEnter and have administrative experience in directing large research programs.  The IAC will provide counsel on programmatic issues, including strategic planning, scientific collaborations, research activities, and budgetary priorities which will aid Dr. Athar in his role as an advisor to each research project and core.
