We are thrilled to share the success of our Summer Program 2025! This year, we welcomed eight students across a range of educational levels, from high school and undergraduate students to medical students.
Our summer scholars participated in a variety of engaging activities, including bootcamps and chalk talks led by Dr. Rebecca Arend, as well as mentors from the Clinical Trials Office and CWRH. Each student also received one-on-one mentorship from Dhruva Dave, MBBS, our postdoctoral fellow, who guided them through the process of preparing research abstracts and posters. Their hard work culminated in presentations at regional conferences and cancer symposiums.
We are proud of Paxton Gillspie and Lela Knight, who both received 1st prizes in their respective cancer research symposiums, an outstanding achievement that reflects their dedication and the guidance they received.
This program was made possible by the incredible support of the rest of our team: Ashwini Katre, Erin O’Connor, Misty West, Jenna Logan, Angelette Edwards, and our staff scientist, Dr. Jianquing Zhang. Hosting students from programs like ENRICH and other initiatives made this summer an inspiring and rewarding experience for our lab.
We look forward to welcoming the next cohort of summer students in 2026 and continuing to foster the next generation of clinical researchers!
