Welcome to GO-RE!

The Arend Lab is dedicated to further understanding the molecular basis of ovarian, endometrial and cervical cancer and translating these findings to treatments that may impact our patients. Our laboratory’s principal focus has been translational research corresponding to biomarker studies, specifically in blood and tissue-based biomarker trends in patients with gynecologic cancer.

The biospecimen bank in the Arend lab contains blood, tissue, and ascites from uterine, cervical, and ovarian biopsies spanning nearly 10 years of collection. With several translational science collaborations and clinical trials, our team has been able to prioritize the collection of biospecimens that reflect the state of Alabama and the city of Birmingham. We have a robust infrastructure for collecting, processing, and storing critical materials to propel our research.

Our team is passionate about pioneering solutions in this vital field, and extend an invitation to join in the mission of making a meaningful impact on the lives of those affected by gynecological cancers. Thank you for visiting our page, and we invite you to join us in our mission to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those affected by gynecological cancers.
